Odd but disturbing story. Seeking input.

#1  Postby Soral » Aug 05, 2014 8:18 am

Riight so I received an e-mail from an online person I am acquainted with. Every quotation is of the original text. He is a fan of the bizzare and bizzare news. He's in his mid-20's and he states that he is a honest person who dislikes liars immensely.

''There was a reported case of a person being strangled by a nerd's legs in my local paper yesterday!'
I replied; ''Um, very weird, what happened?''
''It is still under investigation, so not many details were released. The victim, a 17 year old male, was last seen at a Denny's with three nerds. He was found strangled in his car early the next morning. The coroner concluded from the bruising that he had been strangled between a set of thighs. He speculated that they were likely nerd thighs.'''
I replied ''was that a true story?''
''Yes. It was front page of the "community" section of our local paper. I just checked, and our paper doesn't even have an online version. The suspects appear to be underage so their names and ages weren't released. No motive was mentioned in the article.''
I replied;
''what made you think it was a nerd that did it. newspapers dont use those labels.'
''The witness from Denny's described the three people he was with as looking like they were in the chess club. I live in a small town, so there is a big divide between the jock types and the nerd types. It was easy to understand who was behind this.''
''The article only mentioned the cause of death and associated bruising. I will let you know if anything more is released.'
Me: ''what state/town did this happen in?''
Him:
'Oregon state, but I'm not going to compromise my own identity by telling the town, sorry.''
END
Do you think he is truthful? I was certain he must have been hoaxing, but he denied that he was. He said that his brother goes to the same school the alleged killers attended. Very very strange.

Conversely, I searched ''Ancestry.com'' death and birth records for any 17 year old deaths occurring in the month of February in Oregon state. The search was fruitless.

The story sounds like something you'd see in a lousy B-movie directed by Aaron Seltzer.
I kind of smirked when I read the story, but I often think stories which actually turned out to be true were crap.

Yep. Who also jibbered on about sea-serpents and human combustion. Small world isn't it? :teef:

So I recieved an email from this bloke, and he says that some people were hunting in a canyon, and they discovered that a duck's quack won't echo...

I'm a nerd, and have on occasion strangled something between my legs ... but never another human being.

Chickens should watch out, though.
