I love the guy. But he's an eternal optimist, isn't he?

Perhaps there should be an ACF instead of RDF... :)
I have NO BELIEF in the existence of a God or gods. I do not have to offer evidence nor do I have to determine absence of evidence because I do not ASSERT that a God does or does not or gods do or do not exist.

Wow, thanks for posting that. I agree with pretty much everything Grayling said. Maybe I'll have to buy one of his books. Good that he gave a positive nod to euthanasia, too. When I'm at the point where my health is failing badly, I really hope I'm in a society mature enough to realize that a dignified death is better than a few more weeks/months of horrible life.

His Book "Against All Gods" is very good.

But, alas, very short. I've often thought that Grayling's best book (amongst some excellent tomes) is the one he hasn't written yet - his own big book on religion/atheism. Perhaps he won't add to the pile because he thinks the seam has been mined out, I don't know. Pity, because he's a beautiful writer at his best and I like his gloves-off attitude to religion.

AC's quite cool. That calm, reasoned delivery in that soft tone reaches a lot of deluded minds, I would think.
So the reason why God created the universe, including millions of years of human and animal suffering, and the extinction of entire species, is so that some humans who have passed his test can be with him forever. I see.
