Ghana has several... I think several of the African nations have them. I think the megechurch is the new form of Protestant Christianity.

Yes, but I'm defining "mega-church" as a recent phenomenon. Where basketball stadiums are converted to churches.

I don't think you can actually fit 10-20,000 inside the Vatican, can you?

i've been into St.Peter, you have no idea how damn small it makes you feel.

The Baldachin you see here it's 20 m (66 ft) high, it's like a 7 store building, just to give you an idea and even if it's massive it looks so tiny compared to the church itself.

they don't usually fill it with people because they use St.Peter's square ( wich takes about 400.000 people ) but i think you could easily fit in 20.000 if you want.

by the way i got what you're saying, it's just that the "megachurches" are just a modern interpretation of what always has been in religious world. The new phenomena is that everyone now can have a megacurch for himself. Once everything had to refer to the vatican. Nowdays everyone can have his megachurch and milk money from his followers that is what is really happening in Us, africa and Korea.

Does this Singaporean one count?
Quote from article:
Kong Hee and his five deputies are accused of misusing $24 million of church funds to finance the music career of Ms Sun Ho, wife of Kong Hee.

Four of the six are also accused of misappropriating $26 million to cover up the first sum.

I was channel hopping the other night and stumbled across one of the god channels with a programme coming from one of these mega-churches. They are fucking mental! Huge, full of thousands upon thousands of crazy people, hand waving, crying, crazy shit!
