From what little I know of Hindu / Indian mythology I find it fascinating.
Are there any good English translation, crib notes, or synopsis of those events? The more ancient the better and I understand that some of it is quite fantastical like early sci-fi.

Here's an English translation of the Rigveda, but it is very old so it's likely dated. Scholarship has progressed much since then.
