Neil deGrasse Tyson stops a religious troll

Nice

At the end of the Q&A period after Tyson and Dawkins' magnificent presentation "The Poetry of Science", this douchebag troll (who refused to sit and insisted on getting his "question" out) tries to bait Dawkins/Tyson into a religious discussion with the mildly retarded question about what they would do when they're about to die with nothing to console themselves but their knowledge of science (implying that they're incomplete without the source of origin:god). Dawkins passed the opportunity for retort to Tyson, who answers in a fantastically poetic way.

Seconded :(

Bravo on Neil's answer.

Here is the way I would like to go if I had the choice and people around me who were willing to carry it out. Warning, quite graphic.

Amazing!

Contrast this with our western sense of discomfort around handling the dead. it's interesting to read that it's not really a spiritual exercise but a functional one; The ground is too hard to dig deep holes in and leaving dead bodies on the ground might attract the wrong kind of animals. Therefore the body must be given to the birds.

Essentially he asked Neil how he would comfort himself in the moments of his imminent death, as if deluding himself with visions of God would work for someone who spent his life not believing in such nonsense. His answer was, knowing that his body and death would go on to provide for the furthering of life, would be sufficient.

Cool - never actually seen a sky burial. Not sure it's entirely traditional - I think they used to require a pilgrimage up to the ice-line to ensure that only birds (emissaries of the Sky Father) feasted on it, rather than wolves and cats.

Yeah. It's confusing that non-deluded people find ways to cope with their imminent death, eh?
