The Playing God Scale(Only A Thought Experiment Not Literal)

#1  Postby aufbahrung » May 11, 2019 7:24 am

How far would you indulge in playing God, if you could? On a scale 1 to 10 with 1 being mortal as you are now. And 10 being full on God with all that goes with it? Six or seven would be a world leader...8 being the supreme world leader etc...2 being a airline pilot....etc...what's your number on this scale? what would you like it to be?
They're always out there. Never forget.

I would go all out but only to eradicate suffering and then I would die

1.8 i

Fits Thommo's recipe.

I'd go for i2 = j2 = k2 = ijk = -1. Obviously.

Airline pilot? What else you got on 2? I mean, travel the world, mating opportunities, good pay, but the uniform and shit I don't like. Anything more hmm relaxed with the same benefits?

Also, are we talking Ryanair pilot or Qantas pilot?

Depends what you mean by 'God'.

Now, if you think 'Money' is God, then all the rich greedy psychos and the Tax Haven junkies are '10'.
I have NO BELIEF in the existence of a God or gods. I do not have to offer evidence nor do I have to determine absence of evidence because I do not ASSERT that a God does or does not or gods do or do not exist.

10th reply and no one on scale yet - unless "all out" is marked on there somewhere. :dunno:

I'd go wherever Lemmy Kilmister is on that scale, which I believe is "Lonely God".

I invented the scale. You are all entitled to tinker with it until it is fit for public consumption. Needs some graphs and pyscho-babble from the cartesian thinking crew here. A new idea will be fiercely resisted. This is understood. Yet this might be ze winner, could very well be the best idea you've ever had?

I feel like I'm going to need at least a 9 or higher so that I can become one with reality. Responsibilities aside, I have a few things I'd like to try. Of course, there's the inevitable desire to sit around doing nothing for a while until that gets boring. I quite enjoy the idea of being an invisible god that messes around with people. Although, I might limit that to only messing around with people who are assholes or don't use their indicators. Then again, I would probably want to make the universe as liveable and enjoyable for all sentient beings as possible. Mostly, I think I would enjoy going on massive journeys of experience, exploring planets and galaxies and interacting with intelligent beings.

That might get boring unless you have some cool music to go along with it.

More like British Airways pilot. In times of global Britain, seems like a safe bet with prosperous future.

Anything about God will be fiercely resisted and ridiculed over here. Accept it.

Never thought of being a God, but what surreptitious57 said sounds good to me. Do something to feel good and fuck this world. I dont have the patience with hairless monkeys and less so the will to interfer on Godly level.

When the aliens arrive will the everyday atheirst or theirst be more buffered though especially if they are way, way more advanced? Culture shock could be a issue if we are dealing with a alien species that comes in at nine and a half? God is dead, I concur, but Godlike perhaps another thought..
