The Volgswagen logo conspiracy theory is also very silly.
The symbol displayed simply shows the V and W.
Whereas the WW2 Volkswagen logo actually did incorporate the swastika:

I don't know how familiar most people here are with American football, but I gotta post this . . .

Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is the NFL's newest darling superstar, and rightfully so. The Chiefs aren't even my team but I have to admit Mahomes is fascinating to watch. The man truly has an amazing arm. It's crazy the kind of passes he can throw. I could go on gushing, but anyway . . . He hurt his ankle in the first game of the season, which was really scary, but the Chiefs still won their first 4 games but lost the next two in a row.

So here's the funny part, a church in Kansas City decided to hold a prayer service to pray for him and his team:
Desperately seeking a win following consecutive losses, a Kansas church is hoping the power of prayer will get Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs back on track.

Per Heidi Schmidt of Fox 4 Kansas City, Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village plans to pray for Mahomes' ankle to heal as part of its Sunday services.

"With the last two games, we kind of thought that they may need some type of help," Dave Burton, facilities director at the church, said. "We knew that his ankle was injured so we decided to possibly have a healing service to help him heal that ankle quicker."

Well, the Chiefs actually played their Week 7 game on Thursday night (last night) and Mahomes dislocated his knee during the first quarter and may be out for at least three weeks. (That part's not funny, actually, I don't want to see him injured.) But now I wish I could see the looks on the church members' faces! I'm picturing them running down the church aisle shouting "Stop praying, everyone! STOP! PRAYING!!!"

Atheists are people who always think they are superior to everyone else and who think that all religions are the same even-though this clearly isn't the case. Furthermore, they think EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING can be discovered through science, even-though there are other methods. Like using reason and logic, for example. Can you give me one reason why god wouldn't exist and provide evidence for it?

I highlighted the part I found to be the most amusing.

Apparently the dickhead you alighted upon, failed to understand the elementary concept that science is, in effect, the application of logic and reason to observational data from the real world. But I've become tiresomely familiar with the inherent stupidity of mythology fanboys.

I was more taken with slagging people who ONLY reason from evidence in one breath, and demanding that ONLY reasoning from evidence is good enough for them, the next.

To me this person should probably be sectioned. It is very questionable as to whether this person has sufficient mental skills and knowledge about the world to function as a normal human being in the 21st century.

It' amazing how many people with absolutely, totally batshit crazy views manage to function outside mental asylums. Rationalia still gets lumbered with missives from Galaxian and Dennis Markuze on frequent occasions.

I have to imagine that both of them suffer terribly while writing those missives on account of not being able to maintain sufficient cognitive capacity to run both their typing fingers and their respiratory systems concurrently.

I don't know Galaxian's story but Markuze is profoundly mentally ill. Like, ordered to receive psychiatric treatment severe. I'm not comfortable chortling about how dumb the guy's beliefs are when we know he's very unwell (though I don't think anyone who's been on the recieving end of his harrassment should have to put up with it either.)

Well, no... I didn't know that because I don't really look into people's backstories, just read what they write. Looking it up now, all I see is that he was diagnosed, after an obligatory psychological evaluation, with bipolar disorder 'compounded by alcohol and substance abuse'. I might be a bad person, but I don't think that means he's off limits for mockery of his inane behavior. Bipolar disorder may explain some fraction of his behavior, but it's not like all people suffering from it act like he does. That's firmly on him.

Both Markuze and Galaxian suffer massively from absurd delusions. Those delusions control much of their behaviour. And yet both of them continue to function and survive outside the confines of mental institutions. As long as they constitute no danger to themselves* or others there is no need to section them. That's all I was meaning to say.

Now that Rachel Bronwyn has raised the issue about how to react to Markuze's ideas, I'll just add that I have no inhibitions whatsoever to laugh at and ridicule them. There really is nothing else you can do when reading his interminable rants about Nostradamus's quatrains, the impending wrath of God and the role of the 1980s pop band Depeche Mode with all of this. Of course Markuze regards any ridicule of his ideas as a personal attack. That is not my doing.

*The legal system did decide that Markuze was a danger to others at one stage, but it also decided he was not dangerous to the degree that actual confinement was necessary.

There has been a significant leftward drift in the moral and political attitudes of Hollywood since Gene Roddenberry's day. The Federation once represented the idealised liberal order, and it is being judged against communist morality.

No idea how a nuclear explosion works?

Maybe they work because a critical mass of unstable heavy atoms undergo a chain reaction? Had I a really good fabrication shop, 4.5 kilos of fissile material and a few pounds of high explosives I could build build a nice dirty nuke. It might even go bang better than Fat Man or Little Boy. All that’s needed is to force the fissile material together under extreme pressure and speed. An old cannon barrel can be used. Divide the nuke material into two equal cylinders to closely match the barrel interior. Pull as much vacuum as possible inside the barrel sealed on both ends, and place two portions of high explosives behind the nuke stuff. When touched off the high explosives force the fissile material together at great speed and pressure.
