I'm After A Latin Translator

#1  Postby Ironclad » Dec 07, 2010 10:56 pm

Can anyone link me a reasonable Latin translation webby please.

I have found http://www.stars21.com/translator/english_to_latin.html but it's a flat dictionary I feel.
Anything out there more, um, flexible. :sherlock:

If you want a reliable translation, ask a translator. That's what we are for. Or learn Latin

For simple texts, automated translation programmes sometimes don't do too bad of a job; even freely available online ones can sometimes give results that are at least comprehensible - for the most widely used languages. Latin is hardly one of them, so I would be surprised if anyone bothered (I'm not saying it's impossible, but I do feel it is improbable). For anything else, machine translation programmes are used as a tool to facilitate translation (for certain types of texts, not all), not as a substitute for translators.

What exactly do you want translated? Most classic Latin texts out there can be found in translated versions anyway.
