Bittorrent Help

#1  Postby I'm With Stupid » Jan 24, 2012 6:39 pm

I've just got a new computer and so I've installed the latest version of Bittorrent, and I'm having problems with it. Basically, on the old one, if I opened a torrent file, it would first open a little menu where you could select which of the contained files you wanted to download. But now, it just starts downloading before giving you any options. Anyone know how I get back to doing it the old way?

Poke around the menus? You could always pause the torrent then 'skip' the files you don't want to download in the meantime.

Edit:

Options > Preferences > UI Settings > Show a window that displays...

Yeah, I thought that was it, but it was already ticked.

Curious. Well, I got nothing more. Re-install, maybe?

Preferences>UI Settings>Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent. tick it.

Or use a different client. http://www.utorrent.com/

Transmission is good if you are a Linux user.

But unfortunately I wasn’t quite good enough.

I use uTorrent as well, love it! It's real simple to use and imo is the best torrent client.

I don't torrent much because I have limited bandwidth on my satellite internet but I also vote for uTorrent. Been using it for years and never had a problem.

Thanks. I just downloaded utorrent as you suggested and it works on that. This is the second program I've had to ditch after Google Chrome kept crashing and then refusing to load pages for no reason.
