I watched a show about this, some three or four years ago a man and his son worked on it and fully decyphered it. Iirc is an old Balkan language.

proto romance is not well known enough as of yet that even if we found a text in it, it could not be exploited. Plus, there is no evidence to the point that it was still known and practiced 5 centuries ago... when that guy goes and finds what language Linear A is written in, then opening the road to decipherment, I'll take him seriously. As for deciphering Voynich, I don't believe it one moment.

So long as it's in a language that wasn't utterly dead and forgotten by the time Voynich was penned, it's a more serious offer than the proto romance hypothesis.
