Name changed, but what is the string of numbers and letters next to your user name?? Your passkey?? It is strongly recommended you keep this private as people have misused other people's passkeys before.

It's one of my bitcoin/token addresses. http://foldingcoin.net/ is a group that distributes tokens that are supposedly converted into bitcoin. It's based on how much folding you do and the bitcoin address in the user name is how they distribute. I haven't researched it real thoroughly and expect it doesn't amount to much but thought it would add an extra bit of interest to the folding project. I noticed that some of the people on the FAH list of highest scored folders have done it. One other guy on ASH was doing it too. Probably a waste of time but I just wanted to see. I'll know more after the end of the month. Since I was gong to change my folding name to do this anyway is why I decided to change it to something a little more anonymous. One thing I liked about the foldingcoin group is that you can fold on any team. there are a couple other incentive programs out there I've found but you have to fold on a specific team to qualify. For example you can earn up to $10 in store credit per month if you earn as much as 3M points on the EVGA team. I thought about switching just long enough to collect that but decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Any idea how long it usually takes to come out with the TI version? I know I'm going to get another card but am not sure if it makes more sense to wait for the TI or go ahead and get one now.
This is too much fun. I am such a nerd.

This is a good question, right now a Titan version will be the next step, and I doubt a Ti version will be up for a while after that as they would be in direct competition. A guess on previous form is that the Ti released at end of year. BTW for the price of a Titan you could have 2 1080's .
How many cards are you folding on now? See your output nearly 1million ppd, which seems a bit much for a 1080 by itself.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably proceed before much longer and retire the 960. That is unless I come to my senses.
Just the 1080 and a 960. Probably get about 150K PPD from the 960 since that's about what the estimated PPD usually displays.

I bit the bullet and ordered a GTX 1080 liquid cooled/ hybrid card today. Should be delivered by next weekend, but have serious issues with getting things delivered here in Manhattan, so will depend on the courier company used which I couldn't pick, a total pain I couldn't select post instead.

Has not arrived yet, expect it on Thursday or Friday, if the delivery works, really depends on what courier they choose.

OK the GTX 1080 arrived safe and is installed and folding, so far not an enormous improvement over the 980ti but only 1 generation difference, it is certainly faster and have yet to compare both folding the same unit. Big difference is that both cards now liquid cooled hybrid so temperatures remarkably low. I will add my now resting aircooled GTX 980ti back into a 3rd slot once the weather cools. Will also have to reduce the size of my cpu cooler to allow access to the 1st slot first but a couple of months away from this. PPD? so far just on a 9704 unit and doing 695kppd. There are huge variations between units on the powerful cards due to the quick return bonus and how much resources the unit requires so expect a range both sides of this. Expect the biggest increase will be on the very big work units. From reading around this range enormous between work units. My gtx 980ti's average 540kppd am hoping to average around 700kppd on the new card and as my hybrid 980ti is faster than the aircooled one I am anticipating a daily average of 1300 kppd for the system and closer to 1800kppd if I can run all 3 at a time.. Prediction could be way off. :shifty:

New GTX1080 rocking along nicely, PPD between 600-850k, the updated driver seems to have squeezed a bit extra out of my 980ti as well. Have only had one direct comparison with both cards on the same work unit and that was 830 vs 610k ppd , on one of the bigger units. So far my guesstimate of just over 700kppd average over all units looks about right. On Linux numbers would be higher.

A while back someone asked about crypto currencies and folding. I've been folding for the curecoin team for a couple months now with two 1080 cards and wanted to relate my experience. I went to curecoin.net and created a curecoin wallet. Then I went to https://www.cryptobullionpools.com and created an account using the address from the wallet. Over the last few weeks folding about 68M points accumulated close to 6K curecoins. Yesterday I created an account in an exchange and sold the curecoin for 0.6272 bit coins which at the current rate works out to about $375.00 in dollars. Bitcoin is very spendable. A good many places take it now. I'm hoping that within another couple months I can pay for another 1080 card. I probably could have waited for the exchange rates to be more profitable but I wanted to go through the whole process to prove to myself that it was doable.

I'll check back for any questions. By the way, creating a tokenly pockets wallet in a google chrome browser and using a folding name like; yourname_ALL_yourtokenlypocketswalletaddress (no underscores in the yourname part and max total length 50 chars) will pay you with FLDC coins but which are nowhere near as valuable as curecoin. for curecoin you have to fold on the curecoin team but for FDLC it can be any team.

My mistake, I just picked up better than $200 in FLDC with about 20 days of folding so it's well worth doing.

Are you still folding for ASH team if doing this pay-for-folding thingy?

nope. I liked folding for ASH but not folding for curecoin was just leaving too much cash on the table. I'm mainly looking at it as a way to pay back my out of pocket for the 1080 gpus and looking ahead to maybe a second pc. I just added a third 1080 to my current pc and paid $600 of the $750 cost with, oh what a bad pun, "folding money".

Now it really pisses me off when I get a 19 hour wu that only returns 30k points folding with a 1080 gpu. And I have two of them right now. Makes me wonder if there is something wrong with the WUs.

Looks like no quick return bonus, have you been having failed units to drop you below 80%? If so wind back any overclock and check your temps.
