It's an incredible achievement, but in the same way setting the record for running a marathon backwards is an achievement.

To set the record you have to plan to have the wind and currents behind you all the way, so timing, navigation technology and nature are doing most of the work for you, and what you are doing yourself would be better done with any old piece of cloth tied to an oar.
