Archaeologists working at the "Archaeological Park Carnuntum" in lower Austria (near Vienna) claim to have located and excavated a huge amphitheatre used to train gladiators.

I am amazed at this discovery... and all thanks to new tecnology: ground radar. Imagine how much else will be/ could be discovered?

The question remains, what if things are discovered under a planned road or other public building? I guess one could change the plans, but what about for already existing buildings? How much of the past do we want to uncover, literally and figuratively?

I say we should demolish whatever it is necessary to demolish to get at the past. People can live elsewhere, after all.
