So, does the question mean which period am I most interested in learning about, or in which period would I most like to live (have lived)?

If the latter, then definitely not in any period before the discovery of anaesthetics.

And the sexism permeating pretty much all of history is extremely off-putting.

Also the grinding poverty and the precarious existence of most of the population in all periods.

That said, I could imagine living around 1900 in Vienna. Provided I was reasonably financially secure.

Me too, I'd rather live in this time than any other because medicine and food and shelter and heat and clothing and power tools and MRI machines and Hubble and space probes and laws and, you get the picture.

It's too noisy, too polluted for my taste, too many species are dying, polar bears and so many others might become the thing of the past too soon. Amazon rainforest is shrinking since people are too anthropocentric and Bolsonaro is an idiot, summers are too warm due to the effing global warming and the summer fires are becoming intolerable. I can't remember the last time I saw 1 cm of snow - and it used to be 30-50 cm here.
