The project's scholars have been at work on their critical edition of the Hebrew Bible, a version intended mainly for the use of other scholars, since 1958.

Shouldn't this be in history rather than theism?

Interesting stuff and I hope some of these scholars think to bring some of their findings to the layman in books and/or documentaries.

Well theism is concerned with discussing the nature of God where as Biblical scholarship (or criticism) is a field of history which draws on archaeology, anthropology, folklore etc...
ie the former is concerned with navel gazing and blowing hot air on things we can't possibly know and the latter is involved with forming a picture of the culture and beliefs of a people and unravelling the origins and evolution of the beliefs as objectively as possible.

I'd say it goes in history :)

Click on the report icon (beside 'edit') and ask for it to be transferred. One of the mods will pick it up.
