The most powerful/influential women in history

I'm almost drawing a blank here. Women have copped for the short straw until recently, of course. But I'm sure that there must be many examples of powerful/influential women throughout history. The problem is, I can only think of a few...

Elizabeth 1st, perhaps, stands out for me, though it's difficult for me to gauge the measure of her power/influence. Then we might say the women involved in the suffragette movement (though I'm not sure that any single individual had that much power/influence within the movement itself?).
Cleopatra! Nearly forgot her, though I'm not sure how much power/influence she had.

Feel free to discuss or add to the list.

Eta: would Margaret Thatcher class as one of the most powerful/influential women in history? Anyway, she gets a mention.
They came, they saw, they concurred.

Alexander the Great's mother.

Eve.

Also, I have a serious thought; if a woman has to act in a traditionally masculine way, does that count? Isn't that just the same as being a man? I don't know. It's early, I've not had my cup of tea yet.

Most powerful: Empress Catherine of Russia.

Most influential: Marie Curie hands down.

I don't think Cleopatra was really that powerful. She tried to play Roman internecine strife in her favour and failed miserably at that in the end. She is remembered today more for her affairs with Caesar and Mark Antony IMO.

Is this serious? I don't know where to begin.

Oh well, I'll begin with Marie Stopes.
