Does being a atheist make you feel depressed?

Being a muslim, would you feel, if you live this life according to how you are going to live in the next one, like you entirely wasted your one chance of existence if you die and god isn't waiting for you after all?

No, not for a moment, & I'm 59 years old and have been an atheist since I was about 9 or 10.
(Never had a moment's doubt the non existence of gods or other supernatural beings/realms either, within the theoretical limits of Russell's teapot.)

Of course, like anyone else, I've been depressed at times for other reasons, but never anything to do with being an atheist.

Nope. There are plenty of things that depress me, but seeing the universe for what it is definitely isn't one of them.

Is it depressing holding faith in something for which there has never been any real evidence provided and looks like a life wasting delusion?

Sometimes things in life get me down. Hearing about children dying because their parents prayed instead of taking them to hospital. Or they were outcast or murdered because their parents believed they were witches. Or they were subject to an 'honour killing' because they brought 'shame' on the family. Or they were raped by authority figures and issued threats of a fiery imaginary world if they told. A lot of these things happening to children around the world because the 'grown-ups' in their lives are so riddled with childish superstition that they are are incapable of rational judgement is a cause of sadness for me.
Being an atheist though. It's not something I care about. Why would I? It makes little difference to my well-being or that of anyone around me.

How exactly can depression be related to non- theism? As in, "There is no god, so, i give up"? Or "there is no after life, so, i give up"? It doesn't make sense.
