Five women arrested for driving in Saudi Arabia

iafrica wrote:Police in Saudi Arabia arrested five women on Thursday for breaking a ban on female drivers in the conservative kingdom, one of the women said.

The women were arrested north of Riyadh in Hettein district, she told AFP by telephone, saying that they were "training for driving" in three cars at an empty plot when two police officers arrived and detained them.

I guess we will be hearing that women don't drive because its their choice just like wearing the burkha.

In some countries they even have the audacity to want to learn to read and write. Luckily the Taliban are on to it.

Imagine, the impertinence! They'll be wanting to teach other women how to drive next. Where will it all end - teaching other women how to pray?

Saudi Arabia is the world's largest exporter of petroleum. The irony.

I doubt there's anything in the Qur'an or Hadith about motor vehicles and that's a fact. Iran seems fairer than SA ATM.

Clearly they've never had the pleasure of being picked up from the pub off your face on dirty beer and having her drive you home.....

When is the damn oil gonna run out already... Their entire "blessed" kingdom and all these fuckwad shiekhs are so successful primarily because of petrodollars, which they use to construct a theocratic police state and fund propaganda instead of building an advanced, progressive society.

Now that is a fascinating video. Fascinating. I'll just forward that to a few other folks, thanks, Cherries!

I hope more women start to drive so that at one point it is too many to arrest all of them.
