Feedback from several literary agents was that it was interesting, provocative, humorous and well written, BUT just not a sure-fire sellable prospect in this "difficult" market and thus, not worthy of taking a risk on. One agent asked for 3 lots of sample chapters and nearly took it, but just wasn't 100% convinced.
Well, that just means they don't think it will make them enough money to offset possible hassle. Having abandoned a half-written book ten years ago, if I'd finished it but had no success with publishers I'd be thinking of electronic publishing by now. Never mind the peanuts, feel the satisfaction!
I'm sure regulars here would treat an electronic review copy in confidence.
Anyway, good luck if you decide to go ahead.
