If all those Christian evangelicals actually believed what they claim to believe they would do as Jesus instructed them and renounce their families and possessions, for some strange reason they don't.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

Solar wrote:How can one help another if he isn't able to help himself?

Trite. There are plenty of people who, through illness or disability or some other incapacity, cannot help themselves but succeed in helping others.
Solar wrote:First you have to fulfill your obligations and responsibilities, then worry about doing good for others.

Why? 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. The Golden Rule does not require that one should fulfill one's obligations and responsibilities first... Where there is an urgent need to be addressed, do it without sorting yourself out first.

Solar wrote:It just means focus on yourself and make sure you are content with yourself and deeds if you were to die now.

Twaddle. Suppose one actually dies whilst selflessly helping others without regard to one's own 'contentment and deeds'?

Solar wrote:You see what i'am trying to say?

Not particularly.

Or are you suggesting that this a mind-thing - like mentally preparing yourself so that you are deluded into thinking that you are 'ok' in the eyes of some mythical god before you die?
I have NO BELIEF in the existence of a God or gods. I do not have to offer evidence nor do I have to determine absence of evidence because I do not ASSERT that a God does or does not or gods do or do not exist.

In a world where almost everything is debated and disputed, there seems to stand one globally accepted consensus. That universally accepted concept is none other the inevitability of death. Now what bugs me is why should one occupy himself with things other than good deeds and trying to please his God when he knows death will one day knock on his door?

Anyone can discuss. Your opinions are welcome

If you remove "his God" from that equation and you will find that it bugs you a whole lot less.

we are still young, capable, healthy, enough educated to avoid any dangerous that may result death. aren't we?
