Did you ever have a paper route?

I still remember rolling up to a door on my bike, just a about to put the paper in the letter box, one of the inhabitants opens a door to get a paper and the dog, an Alsatian (Bruce as it turns out), rushes past and the warning was Bruce sinking his teeth into my calf.

I have no idea whether there is any truth to this, but I was told that Muslims hate dogs because there is a widespread belief that dogs ate Mohammed's bones. I thought Mohammed was supposed to have ridden to heaven on a winged horse, so I don't know how that belief ties in with bones left behind.

No, I didn't. Dogs see delivery peeps as intruders, and they think they're doing their job by repelling you.

dogs are insanelyh territorial, they assault even people who don't actually enter their territory, just pass too close to the border.

Never experienced that. If a dog attacks someone like that, it's not the dog's fault.

Unsubstantiated assumption deleted.

I expect a lot of taxi drivers don't take pet dogs in their cabs, and why should they? Don't expect to just turn up somewhere and get into a cab with a dog.

Your sister may also find that Bluebell is not allowed in the corner shop or the Hallal butcher but you shouldn't assume it's because the propietors are Musilm. It's the same in many shops, epsecially those selling food.

It's really not unusual for taxi drivers to not want to take a dog. In fact, just Google "Can I take my dog in a taxi?" and you'll see plenty of advice for someone who wants to do so, suggesting it's an issue that pet owners have to think about.

Exactly. Uber and TFL and many other service providers and dog owners' groups publish guidelines and recommend passengers plan ahead to accommodate dogs, which it seems KIR's sister failed to do. That's the prime reason they were stranded at the station.

What a well thought out rational reply. When you have no point to make just swear at people. They will respect you for that. :nono:

So it was an assumption based on a sample of one station where she has been lucky so far?

So what? There is clearly an issue with dogs in taxis which is not shown to be a specifically muslim issue.
You offered an unplanned taxi ride as if it was an example on topic, but it was only an example of the problem that many taxi drivers don't appreciate passengers turning up on spec with dogs.

Are we to believe that overnight all 20 dog-loving non-Muslim taxi drivers were replaced by Muslim dog-haters?

They don't allow smoking, drinking or eating in them either. It's a hygiene issue, KIR. It's a messy business. Imagine possibly multiple dogs a week in the back of your car. Imagine the hairs and mud and slobber on the windows.

Let's leave the "stranded at the station" anecdote then; it's just a drop in the ocean anyway. There is truth to the fact many/most Muslim taxi-drivers don't allow dogs however still due to their religion. Some even go so far as to refuse to take guide dogs - which is illegal eg: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4157454/Taxi-driver-refused-pick-blind-dog.html

This website has dozens of other examples.
