Never was a big fan of capitalism...hmmmmm tenuous attribution of motive but still.

It has most of the same mores as Christianity, and indeed most cultures. Disapproval of murder and theft, preference for law and order, respect of ones elders, the golden rule and all that jazz.
Arguably the prohibition on alcohol and the rules on lending are good.

That's a bit oblique. If there's some other thread I should know about, perhaps you could say which one it is. Right now I have no memory of participating in any thread about the good bits of Islam.

OK so this comment might seem cold/crass/distasteful but the 4000 9/11 casualties need to be viewed in the context of the 100,000s of Iraq casualties; and saying one agrees with the Iraq war is not controversial....also I did say tenuous attribution of motive, but wish to retract the words "but still" and replace them with the word "however."

From my personal experience I can say that there is virtually no good bit. The “abhorrence of infidelity” is also rather one sided, given that a Muslim man may take 4 wives but a Muslim woman cannot have more than one husband.
The only thing I could suggest as a good bit would be the strong sense of community and the charity tax levied on wealth that goes specifically to help the poor.

That's a double edge sword. It's indeed a good thing, until muslims gather in a country with a different culture, and then they start enforcing their culture to the rest of the community.

In what way does a deliberate act of mass murder "need to be viewed in the context of" casualties that the murder victims had no hand in (many doubtless opposed Iraq policy, even, before they were incinerated)?

Well all of Islam, since part of it is one of their basic tenets (one of the five pillars), i.e. if you're wealthy you pay your due by giving to the poor.
