Is that more homophobic Muslims moving into the area, or existing Muslim residents becoming more homophobic? Or just an increase in the Muslim population, with a proportional increase of homophobic Muslims?
Difficult question

But of course not so important. What counts is that the irrational taboos of islam and the fact that muslims take islam too seriously* are directly responsible for the undeniable evidence regarding muslim homophobia (0%...muslims in Britain thought that homosexuality was morally acceptable; according to a Gallup research if I am not wrong). And this is only one of the many irrational muslim taboos.
More generally given the fact that this religion has a perverse dual nature (both the abrogated and unabrogated verses are true at the same time because the qur'an is the word of allah) we should expect a rise in intolerance (if ever muslims gain some power) to the extent that they will openly preach the Medinan islam in the West (without any contradiction in their view, aren't the tolerant Meccan verses abrogated, less true?; when islam is weak one has to preach the abrogated, nonetheless true, Meccan islam, when it is strong the real islam, like muhammad).
Only if one is totally ignorant of islam could he/she buy the myth with the alleged 'tolerance' of islam; in fact the Medinan islam is the natural interpretation, the real islam. Sadly at this moment in time there is no good reason to think that the Meccan islam will forever be (at least at the declarative/behavioural level) the norm among muslims in the West.
*of course the total lack of freedom in islam plays its part, islam is not an individual religion (but if the 'moderates', in the western acceptance, were really a majority one would expect a very different result)
