What I don't understand about these so-called God inspired books is that surely if God inspired the writers, spoke the words into their ears, telling them exactly what to say, surely he was doing the same thing with the translators so that his books would indeed be completely inspired and there would be no errors and no confusion and they would be exactly the same in 5 years from now when they are rttn lk dis.

Or, for that matter, why not reveal it to someone who could fucking read and write?

Imagine if the Quran had been revealed today. It could be immediately posted as a PDF on the internet and instantly available to the world in its original form. You have to wonder why Allah didn't wait til now.

Same reason today's alleged miracles are very feeble compared to the alleged miracles of yore.

Back then you could smear some secretions from a dead body on a guy so he'd smell dead, throw some dust on him to make him pale, bandage him up, and perform a miracle of resurrection that people would be awed by.

Today, we could accurately verify that the body is actually dead, that the flesh is actually decomposing, the blood actually coagulated, that there is actually no brain function whatsoever and so on, and we could invite the miracle worker into the morgue with all manners of electronic devices hooked up to the dead, decomposing body, and if a true miracle, we could watch as the flesh started reanimating, blood de-coagulating, brain chemistry and electric pulses restarting - all the way to a full recovery.

But we don't need to see that today you see, 'cause we have the miracle stories from a few thousands years ago to rely on.

There you go. They were cleverer than we are now. We're just to close-minded [sic] to believe that them miracles was real. {sic]

It makes me want to puke. How can people be so bloody stupid to believe all that rubbish.

Well, in the olden days when such things were supposed to have happened, most people were pretty clueless and easily hoodwinked - and no chance of a quick Google** if you were unsure. Nowadays so many people have been brainwashed from the day they were born. No doubt the brainwashing is much assisted by the fact that millions of people down the centuries have set a precedent by swallowing the woo. Almost as if Sheldrake were right with his "morphic resonance" woo and one good woo begets another.
**although, if you were a religious lunatic you could no doubt have found postings by other religious lunatics eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZbSotJbfUg and http://www.jafariyanews.com/2k8_news/march/22moon_crack.htm
just like today.

They are so stupid. I got into a fight with a bunch of them on FB today. They were on about how good the Bible is blah blah... until I mentioned Judges 19 and quoted it, then the fight ended. Most of them had never heard of it. And they always tell me to go "read the Bible." Idiots.

No, he simply started a new thread as he has always done, before dealing with the unanswered points in other threads.

Ironically he also reiterates that he has answered peoples questions apart from the off topic ones.

Christopher Hitchens’ book “GOD is NOT GREAT”

I starts with the usual total misunderstanding:
Is it a root source book of the Atheists?

You think he would have learned something about atheism after all this time.
