What did Mohammed see when the Quran was revealed to him?

I wanted to know as to what concept people in the West have of Muhammad and Quran.

Muhammad could see with his eyes outwardly and with his inner wisdom; he had both.

Non-Muslims believe that Muhammed just made up the Quran himself, and either lied or was mistaken about it coming from God. And they're right, too.

I would be interested to know what you think he saw using whatever method was appropriate, when he had the Quran revealed to him.

Well, some believe he either was a much less important or well known Arab tribal chief or didn't exist at all. Either way, the koran and associated tales were made up in order to reinforce/justify Arab society and rulers some time later. Even Muslims, of course, recognise that the vast majority of hadiths were made up for just such reasons. Not just non-Muslims, either. A Muslim Professor of Islamic Studies came to the conclusion that Mo more likely than not never existed.

It would certainly bring down some serious arguments if we did that.

I think he was just an opportunist. Some guy who saw an opportunity, took it and made a fortune out of it. He got to marry the boss's widow, added a few more young things into the mix and announced it was all allowed in a vision from "God." It's amazing what shit you can get superstitious people to believe when you tell them that it came from their particular form of superstition.

A bookmark is a piece of material you put on the page of a book that you are reading, so that you don't lose the page when you close the book. Extending the concept, Aggi is putting a post in this thread, so it will show up in her "Your Posts" section.
