I understood where the numbers were coming from in about 5-10 seconds, but I don't get what I'm supposed to solve. Or was that what I was supposed to solve?

It's not very clever to tell me directly that I'm smarter than most people. Apparently that is what has just happened. You will all now be hand over all valuables and caek to me.

I determined the pattern in under 5 seconds.

There is no "problem" to be solved, though - I spent an additional 10 seconds verifying that.

There have been a number of variations on this theme on social media in the past year, so I've been exposed to this pattern before. Not sure I'd do quite so well totally cold with a totally new theme. Might spend thirty whole seconds.

Oh, and I'll take any caek Fallible doesn't finish - let's hurry up, people, so it doesn't go stale.

Fine, then. How about these:

1 + 1 = 2
5 + 2 = 7
7 + 10 = 21
9 + 15 = 30
15 + 30 = 55
