Monitoring of the cerebral vasculature

There really needs to be a way to do real time monitoring of the cerebral vasculature. :(

Screening MR Angiograms of people with a family history or symptoms ?

That's the best we can right now. But most aneurysms are so inaccessible and you get so little time to act once the aneurysm has ruptured. Monro-Kellie, brain stem compression and you are helpless. Then again, how do you keep an watch on a time-bomb that can go off at anytime (or maybe never)?

Sad for everyone involved. :(

Endovascular treatment with GDC coils ? But only certain types of aneurysms are amenable to that.

Anyhow, it would be worthwhile for Tigger's kids to be checked out, in case there's a familial aspect to the aneurysm. Some types of aneurysms, like Berry aneurysms of the anterior communicating artery, do have a familial relationship in some instances.

Didn't know about GDC coils, Durro. That seems like one hell of a complicated surgical procedure.

Yeah, sorry.

But I would like to reiterate that Tigger's children should be investigated in case there's a familial aspect to this tragedy. I've seen families where multiple close relatives have aneurysms.
