North-West Get-Together (UK)

#1  Postby hackenslash » Apr 06, 2011 10:15 pm

I propose this:

1. The event should take place in Liverpool.
2. The event should include one of Cali's special museum tours.
3. The event should include much merriment, discussion, and excess.

Beyond this, the parameters are up for grabs. As long as this can be arranged for sometime in the summer, it could be a giggle.

I will also post this on Ratz, so that peeps there can join up with us.

Interested, at least in summer the Steam Racket's fast craft goes to the Pier Head, and as a foot passenger it is even cheaper than that orange airline.

I've been down to Leicester and up to Leeds (Skeptics in the Pub), so another town beginning with L isn't out of the question.

I think there's quite a few members here from the north-west, surprised there aren't more responses... :?

Hmm, Liverpool is quite far away for me, but possibly!

I'd probably go, even thought I'm a bit far. I really enjoyed West London meeting 26th Feb.

Cali's special museum tours? merriment, discussion, and excess? Where do I sign up?

It's going to be good. It will be the weekend of the 22nd October, and is slated to include the aforementioned tour, which is not to be missed.

Bit of prejudice against us ratskepters on the ratz thread. :shifty:

need more details: where exactly, what time, for a whole day or entire weekend

edit: ratz are much better at organising than we are. They've already got a list of people coming, hotels booked, spare rooms filled.. maybe I should just post there..

Don't they have moderators over there to stop that kind of thing? :nono:

It's in Lancashire. You'd not notice their smell.

Please, redwhine, a little rigour! Liverpool is in Merseyside. It hasn't been in Lancashire since 1974.

 I worked for the Royal Liver Friendly Society (now Royal Liver Assurance) from 1979 to 1997 and I never knew that. Mind you, their official address is...

Royal Liver Assurance Ltd.
Head Office
Royal Liver Building
Pier Head
Liverpool

Fucking postcodes! Nobody bothers with counties anymore. I still consider myself as living in the West Riding, and not South Yorkshire.

That's OK. Would you believe I've had official documents from Manchester City Council with their address given as Lancashire? Indeed, I once sent back a demand for council tax on the basis that I don't live in Lancashire. Way to keep current!
