I'd love to come and put faces to avatars in Birmingham, but realistically it's not going to be likely from where I am, clinging to the edge of the country in East Kent. Was hoping for something more Londonish.

But if something gets arranged I'll do what I can.

I don't think I have heard anything positive about Birmingham, is it really not great?

:nono:

Birmingham was one of the greatest industrial cities in the world and a powerhouse of science and invention!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham ... _invention

edit - nearly forgot; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Soci ... Birmingham

and what's more; we invented the Balti!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balti_%28food%29

Unfortunately, these days we have no industry :nono: but we still have great curry!

Summer time? Nice little canal trip (with bar)? http://www.away2canal.co.uk/

We could perhaps get @jerome to come along and tell us some ghost stories over the PA!!

A late friend always said, 'Birmingham is a great place to come from'. I've no doubt he was right.

True, they also invented the Brummagem Screwdriver

You and Jerome resort to fisty cuffs over the existence of spooks and someone get's wet?

I half fell off such a canal excursion many years ago (it was mates 21st b'day party)!!!

I had had a few ales.......

My leg really hurt the next day because I bashed it into the quayside! Luckily, someone grabbed me to stop me going all the way in otherwise i might still have been at the bottom of the canal today!

Some students took me to Bearwood for my first ever Balti. Perspex table tops, with the menus visible underneath, no drink, but no corkage either, and naan breads as big as a fucking big naan bread. Superb.

Bearwood was always a favourite when I worked in a pub down the road when I was a student - we'd book a table for midnight after we'd emptied the pub and take in a few carrier bags of beer!

Haven't been out for a curry for ages....I really want one now!!! :hungry:
