Yes, understanding the lyrics really doesn't matter

Man, YouTubing Possessed has me on and old death metal demo tape kick. I love all this stuff, raw as fuck, and the shitty hand drawn tape covers are amazing. The Mantas demo in particular is heavier than most of the crap that masquerades as metal these days...where's my cane?

  I don't listen to much, if any modern metal except what's played somewhere else. Not by any prejudice, it just so happens.
A friend of mine from Boston (who I kind of lost touch with) is a death metal fan of old (and a great musician) so I'd have to tolerate some death metal music.
Which I don't mind too much, if I imagine they're singing in a foreign language.

Continuing with Fargo's perfect soundtrack:

(it was actually a cover by Britt Daniel, but that version isn't on youtube)

Couldn't find a studio version of this on YT so this somewhat rough 'n' ready, but still pretty, live version will have to suffice.

Also rather pretty I thought:

I don’t think we’re for anything, we’re just products of evolution. You can say “Gee, your life must be pretty bleak if you don’t think there’s a purpose,” but I’m anticipating a good lunch.

I may have posted this already, but isn't it beautiful?

I always liked the live version from the Hell Freezes Over tour:

My favourite song from that concert is The Last Resort:

We are alive, so the universe must be said to be alive. We are its consciousness as well as our own. We rise out of the cosmos and see its mesh of patterns, and it strikes us as beautiful. And that feeling is the most important thing in all the universe.
