Going through my mom's cd's and she had the album this is on. The chorus has been stuck in my head for 3 days, now it can be stuck in yours too!

All hail Apple Music. With my family subscription, I have access to everything Apple has access to in music.

I’ve known of her name for many years, but never paid attention to her work before.



What an astonishing voice! I don’t normally listen to the music genres she performs. I am enjoying the change.

I play Apple’s “Essentials” list, then let it keep playing after the list is over, suggesting similar tunes. Very enjoyable, indeed.

RIP Pharoah Sanders 1940-2022

I had never listened to Long John Baldry.

I vaguely remember my mum years ago saying she liked him, though I suspect she was thinking of one song alone (Let the Heartaches Begin, a very schmaltzy hit in the 60s).

Consequently it never occurred to me that he might be worth listening to.

Today I was watching a very old clip of Peter, Paul and Mary on UK television in about 1963 (I've been listening to them recently and find that I like them a lot). They were on a programme called Hullabaloo, which seems to have been a folky/bluesy version of Top of the Pops. And at the end of this clip (at 19:10) someone else comes on, and it turns out to be LJB. I was very impressed, and subsequently searched up numerous other examples of his craft.

A new one for me, Mazzy Star.
