Love the last 3.

Do Pearls and Brass fit into psych rock? Probably not. But there are a lot of stoner bands who may do nowadays. Here is a wiki list, but don't take it as a must for entry into this thread. I think it's probably well out of date. None of the recent bands are on the list, e.g. Tame Impala.

Where are all your Beefheart tracks, SoS? I've been waiting! :smoke:

Oh yeah, I was going to drop a Tame Impala track but forgot.

I don't really think Beefheart fits in with psychedelic rock, now Zappa on the other hand...

Beefheart? Maybe not rock, but certainly psychedelic in the early days. They don't have to be rock bands.

We're Only In It For The Money is my favourite Mothers album....possibly equalled by Uncle Meat.

Anyway, I'll start with the Captain........

That Wiki list is really bad, not a single Japanese or New Zealand band on that list :nono:

I don't know if most of Roy Montgomery's work would be considered psych, but stuff like this makes that kind of headspace so it counts for me:

Beefheart is out there, I just never considered it psychedelic for some reason. He was just way out there on his own trip. More like...art blues rock?

Ok, time for some more under-appreciated New Zealand greatness, The Terminals...

Did see Charlambides in that list tho, totally forgot about those guys for a minute. Market Square is one of the very treasured double LP's that I own:

Yes, it's decidedly biased to Europe/US, and only the old stuff.

But it does help us remember stuff we've forgotten!

Because when you're riding the love carpet to paradise most Beefheart sounds like a bit of a kick in the face. Don't get me wrong, I adore the Captain, but he's more sober-before-teatime than post-pub-rapture, imo. If you're going to plough that furrow probably best go for one of his soppier songs.

Well that video's blocked in my country, so here's the only Bardo I know, Bardo Pond - Limerick:
