I like to add a little distortion but it quickly gets to where it doesn't mesh with the acoustic. What is the tonal quality that isn't meshing? I think of it as being too cold or maybe too bright but I think there is some dynamic range issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Hard to say without hearing. Dynamic range as in frequency, or volume? Compression's used for controlling volume, if it's too bright obviously turning down the treble is something easy to try, as I'm sure you have. Looks like there's lots of effects on that amp, including different amp sim settings. I find 4K can be a bit harsh on amps, maybe start there.
