I know I mentioned them already, but as I've been listening to some Yello remasters I was struck again by how good and funny those crazy Swiss were:

"Oh Yeah" is a classic from Ferris Beuller's Day Off that got me interested in them.

Some other of my fav Yello songs are:

Just ran across this guy recently:

Dude's from Iran. it's pretty tough to get his albums (in non-mp3 form), and some of it can be just so-so, but when he hits it he can be pretty transcendent!

Also...WORSHIP!

I found out about them via a friend of a workmate who was a serious fan. It was around the time they released One Second I think, which I still think is their best album all told. It prolly contributed to my whole interest in electro and especially industrial, tho I got more serious about it a bit later in the turn of the 1990's.

Some "liquid" drum and bass. It's basically more soul full, often slightly chilled.

I could only find the live versions, from LTJ Bukem's progression sessions set in Japan 2002.

Thanks for this.

I really liked it and also the fact that I'd never be exposed to this music unless people share it with me.

I always think of visiting Caves in the Ozarks when I used to live in St Louis ... we went down there on a cold crisp clear beautiful winters day and had this playing in the car.

This is similar to the version of this song that I like, but not exactly the same. I can't find it on Youtube so this is the best I could do:

I saw him dj/play live a couple years back, maybe in 2007, and it was pretty beautiful, at 11 am. I downloaded some, and liked it, but his live set was a lot, lot better. I tried to compliment him on it afterward, and he was irritated, so I haven't gone out of my way since to follow his new stuff. Amazing how being a dick to people turns someone off becoming a fan! Regardless, I was really impressed by his show.

What do you think of Richie Hawtin's Orange, blatantly "Oh Yeah"? (Can't believe this is already over 10 years old :nono: )

That's cool that you got to see him play and his set was really good. It does seem like the sort of thing that would work better live, the records can lack a little energy and movement. Too bad he was a dick, it's why I usually try to avoid meeting my favorite musicians at all costs!
