Only a lowly undergrad am I. I'm gonna have to reference my textbooks every time I make a post from now on, just to be sure I don't embarrass myself with all of the people here who might be able to correct me, lol
I'll pass on something that was said to me when I first took on an "official" role in my Entomology Society. When I expressed doubts about my suitability for the role, the then President of the society took me to one side and said, "Don't worry, we're all amateurs at this game".
This comment becomes all the more illuminated, when I mention that the President in question, is
a published scientist in his field with an international reputation, and has had species named after him in recognition thereof. One is hard put to think of someone that is less "amateur" than this, but his comment, viewed at a deeper level, is apposite. We're all in the learning game, right up until the moment we stop moving, so to speak. There's probably a fair amount I can learn from you on some subjects, and I'm talking here as a former mathematics student myself, though my specialities tended to be in different areas, so if you want a crash course in tensor analysis, I'm probably worth pulling to one side for the purpose, but biological applications of mathematics is, by my own admission, one of my weaker areas, so I might be pulling you to one side on those occasions, especially as you still have the textbooks by your side.

Unfortunately, this will be
completely lost on certain brands of supernaturalist ...
