Deja Vu?

#1  Postby DLH » May 10, 2015 3:15 am

I was excited to have found a new active forum in a search but as I was registering the form said that one of the addresses I use was already being used here. I tried to use some of the user names I've used in the past and I tried to do a search on members, and I tried to have my info sent to that address, but I can't remember ever having posted here.

Have I been here before?

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up, kiore.

As for my introduction, I'm a former unbeliever turned believer. I was an unbeliever for 27 years and picked up a Bible one day in order to learn more about that which I opposed and became a believer. My beliefs are similar to The Jehovah's Witnesses, though I have never been and will never be a part of any organized religion. My beliefs are similar to the Jehovah's Witnesses because we agree with the removal of the pagan influence of modern day teachings, which are more inspired by Greek philosophy and mythology. Over time these were adopted by Christendom and have become mainstream traditional Christian teachings, though they are not supported by the Bible.

I hope we can have some interesting discourse.

Welcome to the forum DLH.
What you say about the Bible is interesting as many have remarked that it was a proper reading of the Bible that turned them away from their Christian beliefs. That of course is something for another thread. ;)

Thanks for the welcome, Parker, maybe we can discuss that in my new thread "Why Skeptical?" in the Non theism forum.
