HELLO!
Im a 26 year old science enthusiast from North Jersey USA. My interest in science started when I was very young, and I eventually went on to complete a BS Engineering Physics degree. I would describe myself as a passionate skeptic - I think skepticism is a virtue and nothing excites me more than learning something I dont know, or finding out Im wrong about something I thought I knew.
I was recently reminded of an old blog I used to visit many years ago called "theBRpage" - a Bad Religion (the rock band) website with a forum section. The topics there really fascinated me and now that Im a little older Im interested in joining the discussion again.
(Anyone else know theBRpage? maybe Il discuss it, and the band, in one of my first topics.)
I searched around a lot looking for a good forum to join. I tried to avoid the larger ones, where I tend to lose interest due to the massive amounts of content. I was about a moment away from creating an account on scienceforums.net when I saw at the bottom a link to Rational Skepticism, and here I am.
I suppose part of my enthusiasm for skepticism is a result of the sometimes strange and irrational beliefs of people that are close to me. Of course there is irrationality all over the world, but its fascinating to me that people I grew up with and have been close with all my life can come to strange conclusions about reality, and fall victim to pseudoscience.
Thanks for reading my Welcome post!
