I thought I would say a quick hello and tell you a little about me.
I am an atheist and always from being about 6 never believed in god of any type despite being sent to Sunday school and having to attend church parade in the scouts.
When I got to my mid twenties I became a Jw (sorry if I ever knocked on your door). The reason why is a bit complicated and I really don't understand why even now. After a few years I had had enough I thought I would get out and back to reality. Not easy I was then married with a fanatical jw wife my work was tied up with another jw and I had a daughter who I didn't want to get stuck in a war. So I put my head down kept my mouth shut. I was last inside a kingdom hall 10 years ago> If any one is interested I will explain more at another time. I am a happy atheist :drunk: My name comes from one of my interests real ale and proper British pubs

Hi. Prince is a JW. There must be some real appeal there if a genius type like him could be seduced. Welcome!

Welcome to the monkey house. I've also been an atheist since I can remember, I find stories like yours extremely interesting since I cannot imagine being part of any religion or church.

Welcome. Beer's over there and if you look around you might find a couple of other ex-JW's. We have some of them around here.

That's surely enough to compensate for your dalliance with supernaturalism. Welcome to RatSkep :drunk:

I spent a lot of time in pubs when I was supposed to be knocking on doors a story for another time. My local as always got 7 ales on another 14. There is nothing like a good pint and good company .

Well we can't guarantee the beer here, but the company's usually pretty good

Welcome, interesting background. Also interesting screen name. Here's a poem I wrote last week. :)

Time Flies

Those nasty little beggars
always messing around

leaving their fly-speck vomit
all over time and space

moving the Archduke’s assassination
or messing with Jesus’ birth

we of course never know
cause time itself corrects

things are always as they were
except the barfly nose.
