But that's the same. We identify with our views. Attack the view, and you attack the person. This is why people have arguments. You have to respect views, and learn to understand them, that's how people gett along, a

No, you don't have to respect views. If a sociopath told you they would lie and cheat to get what they want because people's feelings don't matter would you respect that? I'm guessing not. If people hold a view so strongly that they class it as a part of themselves that's their choice, but they shouldn't expect uncritical respect for it. Some views are just stupid.

Just relax, look around the place & join in from time to time until you feel comfortable. I'm sure you'll fit in, there are 1000s of topics on all sorts of matters - from current affairs, astronomy, flora & fauna to religion & even physics & medicine. It's not just an atheist forum, in fact it isn't really. Though many are.

One wonders why a person would introduce themselves on a lively debatey forum with "I've already made up my mind you're all going to be arseholes to me and I'm so shy I probably won't be able to handle it". Just, why? :ask:

I had my suspicions of sockpuppetry, to be sure. But my advice was given in earnest. An internet discussion is not the place for someone whose goal is to avoid conflict. Hell, I think that goes for the entire internet.
