Yes if no one puts something together I can do it when I get home but I'm at work now (and on Eastern Standard Time) so I could possibly miss a lot of potential punters doing some Friday evening browsing.

Another good reason for advertising this place is that contradicts the myth flying around that the RDF people are a bunch of abusive, vitriolic thugs. Unfortunately, it was Richard who started that myth with his "Outrage" announcement and I've tried to let him (and the RDFRS dirctor) know it's a myth and that he's been grossly misled but I've had no response.

This forum can demonstrate the calibre of RDF people so the more it's advertised widely, the more the propaganda against the membership can be blown apart.

I have begun the PR campaign to fight back.

viewtopic.php?f=40&t=454

Try to post this around to as many blogs, news articles etc. etc. as possible.

Double whammy, PR for the new site and redeeming our muddied names.

I'm going to try to post on some christian sites like ReasonableFaith, just to let the more thoughtful Christians know where we are. And to refute the "our prayers worked" meme.

Unless someone thinks that is a bad idea. My feeling is, if some Christians check us out, maybe a few will stay.

They were praying for the downfall of that site?

Why not go to the forum and prove why people are wrong? What a meager miracle that a forum was shut down, and in a supernatural manner but because Dawkins and the webmaster decided so. Did the Holy Ghost influence them to shut the forum down? But keep the website up, and to implement a new forum solution? Faith forces your brain into a box.

My first post here.

"Gobsmacked", is that the right term? :)

I really didn't see this coming. The second forum I have had to evacuate because they decided to shut it down. And it was so active!

I'm somewhat disappointed now...

Apparently chalkers changed that yesterday. For obvious reasons I can't try it myself, but from what I heard you can send PMs to your hearts content, although to only one user at a time.

I know this is completely off the topic. But will someone please assist me in getting an avatar?
All my attempts are not netting me results. I tried to get the avatar I used on RDF with no success, any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Click on User Control Panel.
2. Click Profile.
3. Click Avatar.

There should be a spot where it says Upload Image From Your Machine

5. Open new tab.
6. Select image you would like to use.
7. Drag it to your desktop.
8. Upload it to a website like PhotoBucket and edit the image's size so it's 130 x 130.
9. Drag that one to your desktop.
10. Go back to the first tab(the one with the Upload From Your Machine Message.
11. Upload the image.

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks, but can't do it. This is a little difficult. Other forums allow you to download from anywhere. Upload from your machine does not work on my machine. All my pics are way to big.

Did you read the part about first uploading the image to a place like photobucket where you can reduce the size?
