I will try again to get in touch with MaryHelena and Beaslybean. I go to the index, but can't find their posts. Trying to look through index of members names does not work. My browser times out every time.

Does anyone know if the "new forum" is up at RDF yet? What is it supposed to be like?

No, it isn't. Still some two weeks or so to go.

I doubt I'll be spending a lot of time there, but I'm a bit curious about the format...

I think a dual approach could work:

One "free for all" forum, and one part of the forum where only admins can make new threads, for example for new stories.

I really hate the "blog style" comments below stories because they usually don't give you a way to alert you about new replies to things you are interested in. But there would be value in discussing stories in a forum.

MaryHelena has been actively posting on the front page "apology", and has been speaking about the former RDF forum members in extremely disparaging and spiteful terms. Was she an active poster on the RDF forum?

Not as active as Beaslybean. I think she was a fairly new member.

The RDF site was in my browser under the category of fun. Just doesn't seem like that anymore.

I must say that this forum is incredibly fast compared to the RDF forum. Well done, whoever is running it!

Then again, compared to RDF in the last eight months a glacier was pretty damn fast.

I don't think he'll answer. He had a bit of a breakdown regarding internet fora and said he's done with it. (At least for a while, I'd say.)

Can someone illuminate for me what the hell happened at RDF? I was away for a while and when i came back the forums were no more?

Well, aren't you glad you are now here? With everyone's support, we can make this the forum RDF wish it could be.
