question

It seems to me that using tape recorders for clarifying or as moderating the debaters exchanges, would be very helpful. Has this been tried. Can someone shed some light on the objections, or problems, using such devices.
In particular, religious debates, which evolve into a free-for-all type of debate.
Thanks John

Welcome, lingcod. I don't understand what you're talking about. Could you expand?

She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

Maybe it's ludicrous . . . hold on.
Thanks

Equipment: One master digital recorder for backup and recording both satellite recorders. The master would always be running. The satellite machines (two; more than two people could be messy) would be multi-channel, synced but independent. Mics and playback facilities for each. A Moderator could be useful. Any style of Debate format. Each satellite recorder would have time stamping, and the ability to bookmark whatever portions the operator desires. Contentions, disagreements, clarity, or other important points, could be marked and played back at their given time. (Watching religious debates was the impetus.)
Much like a Court Reporter, which are going digital, but far less complicated since legalities would be absent.
