David Cameron has refused to correct his claim that private sector rents are falling despite research carried out by Inside Housing that proves the opposite is true

 not only does he not admit he's got his facts wrong, but he also tries to divert attention with a tenuously connected dig at labour, as if that qualifies as a response. I'm surprised he didn't try to dismiss the correction as pedantry while he was at it.

On the other hand if he didn't behave like this, how would everyone know that he is a lying fucking prick? This could just be his commitment to open government in action.

He's typical of the current international crop of right-wing dickheads. A chinless hooray from a privileged background who thinks that "facts" are whatever he cooks up in his head at the time, and who also thinks that his pet ideology dictates to reality.

I know there are some people here who believe they have a monopoly on truth, but unsurprisingly, they don't.

Rental market shows fall
20 Jan 2012

Glimpses of a softening in the rental market were seen today, as average rents dropped for the second month in a row.

The typical monthly rent fell by 0.8% on a month earlier to £711 in December in England and Wales, according to the latest index from LSL Property Services, which owns chains Your Move and Reeds Rains.

Do you think LSL Property Services are lying too, and on what basis? Or is it just another fanciful conspiracy theory?

So why did Cameron not quote his source?

If there are two competing sources why did he not say it's unclear?

Government doesn't do sources. Government does rhetoric.

I agree, Cameron is only quoting the figures that back his reforms the most, suppresses the ones that don’t, and never answering the questions directly or at all sometimes. But before anyone whines, Miliband would too if the positions were reversed.

You should watch ministers on Sunday morning TV, all a right bunch of spineless slimy slugs not holding with principles but playing the game of hide the truth.

It’s what they do, and the issue with it is two parties doing wrongs are not making a right policy for the nation.

Politics is in the gutter, only I don't know for how long now. Is it new and just media exposed in interviews or always been this way?

Always been this way. Well, since perhaps Disraeli/Gladstone.
