Shake-Up at Democratic National Committee, Longtime Officials Ousted

WASHINGTON — A shake-up is underway at the Democratic National Committee as several key longtime officials have lost their posts, exposing a still-raw rift in the party and igniting anger among those in its progressive wing who see retaliation for their opposition to DNC Chairman Tom Perez.

The ousters come ahead of the DNC's first meeting, in Las Vegas, Nevada, since Perez took over as chairman with a pledge this year to unite a party that had become badly divided during the brutal Bernie Sanders-Hillary Clinton 2016 primary race.

Complaints began immediately after party officials saw a list of Perez's appointments to DNC committees and his roster of 75 "at-large" members, who are chosen by the chair.

The removal and demotion of a handful of veteran operatives stood out, as did what critics charge is the over-representation of Clinton-backed members on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which helps set the terms for the party's presidential primary, though other Sanders and Ellison backers remain represented.

The Democratic Party 'leadership' wants to be Republicans.

Fuck them - if I wanted to be a Republican I would have voted for Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney, or Trump.

The don't want to be - they ARE republicans, lol.

I suppose there's less money for them all if they go left. If Sanders gets elected, they're all out of a job.

Donna Brazile must be a Russian operative - like all those who are less than worshipful of the Democratic Party.

Yes it does seem a little odd, doesn't it? That not only is she part of it but that she now comes out and admits it and THEN backpedals after Trump gets hold of it and why the fuck now? What's her angle to do this now and help the DNC lose more elections? This only validates everyone already pissed off at the DNC and is not going to help next years elections.

What's her angle or is it just that she's trying to sell her book?

Brazile probably would have been OK with being treated like shit by the new owners of the DNC had they won.

But even with all the chicanery, cheating, and lies they still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Clinton's selling her book pushing the blame on everyone but herself - it's no surprise others will follow suit.

Well Brazille has called Clinton a massive cheater lol

Everyone now knows Clinton cheated and the DNC supported that. They also now know that instead of Trump, they could have had Sanders in power.

They say everything in politics happens for a reason so this is happening for a reason. Either Sanders master plan is coming to fruition or the collpase of the Dems has been planned all along? There is no way you can lose as a Democrat if you campaign on the issue people want so they know this so why don't they do it or are they really that thick? Do they really not see that progressive politics wins elections so much so a black man won the last but one based on a progressive message.

Neither Clinton nor Obama gave a flying fuck about the health of the party, otherwise they wouldn't have created this mess.

Obama’s campaign operation, Obama for America, took small-dollar giving to never-before-seen heights and opened up the possibility of a transformation of politics. But he quickly decided to marginalize his group after the 2008 election. He renamed it Organizing for America, but ordered it to do very little organizing, worried that if grassroots activists attacked Blue Dog Democrats, they would bolt from the president and lose in 2010. Then-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel famously told activists such a strategy was “fucking retarded.” (Most lost anyway in 2010, as the tea party wave swept them out.)

OFA became Obama’s primary campaign apparatus, supplanting the DNC, which became an afterthought handed to Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., who later became Clinton’s running mate. After the 2010 wave, Obama put Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz on top of the moribund institution, a clear signal that he was uninterested in it as a central component of the party. Obama’s poor relationship with Wasserman Schultz was widely known and written about, but he left her in the job for six years regardless.

Raising money for a bland outfit like the DNC isn’t easy in the best of times, but with Obama offering little to no help, and clinging to his invaluable email list, Wasserman Schultz was set up to fail, even if she would have done so on her own.

Obama instead reasoned that he could become the party, his dynamic and charismatic personality carrying it at the national level.

Obama was re-elected, but the party itself went on a historic losing spree, ultimately shedding nearly 1,000 seats across the country. Even after Democrats lost the Senate in 2014, and the DNC continued spending money on consultants at an eye-popping rate, Obama decided not to make a leadership change. Instead, he left it saddled with debt — debt the Clinton campaign would later agree to pay off in exchange for control.

Obama finally became interested in the party after the 2016 loss. His final gift to the party apparatus was Tom Perez, his labor secretary, who he recruited to stop Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., from winning the race for DNC chair. Obama and Perez won. DNC funding has been anemic, and it recently had to add to its roughly $3 million in debt.

Oh here we go - lying for the establishment and blatantly so. Do any of these degenerates have a conscience? Here is you basket of deplorables - lying to everyone to try and save a cheater and the person that got you Trump.

Four Viral Claims Spread By 'Journalists' On Twitter In The Last Week Alone That Are False

Authored by Glenn Greenwald via The Intercept,

There is ample talk, particularly of late, about the threats posed by social media to democracy and political discourse. Yet one of the primary ways that democracy is degraded by platforms such as Facebook and Twitter is, for obvious reasons, typically ignored in such discussions: the way they are used by American journalists to endorse factually false claims that quickly spread and become viral, entrenched into narratives, and thus can never be adequately corrected.

The design of Twitter, where many political journalists spend their time, is in large part responsible for this damage. Its space constraints mean that tweeted headlines or tiny summaries of reporting are often assumed to be true with no critical analysis of their accuracy, and are easily spread. Claims from journalists that people want to believe are shared like wildfire, while less popular, subsequent corrections or nuanced debunking are easily ignored. Whatever one’s views are on the actual impact of Twitter Russian bots, surely the propensity of journalistic falsehoods to spread far and wide is at least as significant.

Just in the last week alone, there have been four major factually false claims that have gone viral because journalists on Twitter endorsed and spread them: three about the controversy involving Donna Brazile and the DNC, and one about documents and emails published by WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign. It’s well worth examining them, both to document what the actual truth is as well as to understand how often and easily this online journalistic misleading occurs:

Hmm? 155 emails in total from other people to Hillary containing sensitive to classified information, only three classified at the time of transmission and none of those marked so in the headers of the files.

When are you and Trump, Sean Hannity, Alex Jones, and Fox and Friends going to get over your irrational obsession with Hillary Clinton.

Hell yeah, maybe it is time for a little music?

Clinton theme song:

Bernie's theme song:

It's like, hey! That song is 54 years old and besides the destruction on the eve not happening in that 54 years it wasn't that good in the first place or ever.

Trump's theme song:

Just imagine every time Freddy sings "Father" or "Mother" or anyone The Donald singing "Ivanka".

I have sinned dear Ivanka Ivanka I have sinned
Try and help me Ivanka
Won't you let me in? Liar
Nobody believes me Liar
Why don't they leave me alone?
Ivanka I have stolen stolen many times
Raised my voice in anger
When I know I never should
Liar oh ev'rybody deceives me
Liar why don't you leave me alone?

Liar I have sailed the seas
Liar from Mars to Mercury
Liar I have drunk the wine
Liar time after time
Liar you're lying to me
Liar you're lying to me
Ivanka please forgive me
You know you'll never leave me
Please will you direct me in the right way
Liar liar liar liar
Liar that's what they keep calling me
Liar liar liar

Listen are you gonna listen?
Ivanka I'm gonna be your slave
All day long
Ivanka I'm gonna try behave
All day long
Ivanka gonna be your slave
All day long
I'm gonna serve you till your dying day
All day long
I'm gonna keep you till you dying day
All day long
I'm gonna kneel down by your side and pray
All day long and pray
All day long and pray
All day long all day long all day long
All day long all day long all day long

Good reason for the Secretary of State to have a secure email server, eh?

LOL!

You mean Obama who sicced his boy Comey on Clinton, right?

You need to get over your irrational White Knighting for this corrupt loser Clinton.
