Heather Nauert -- D-day: example of strong US/German ties

Spokesperson for the US State Dept and CURRENT ACTING under secretary of state, for those who don't know Nauert. Not just some nobody-talking-head.

We need a new word in the English vernacular because ignorant is just woefully lacking.
Evolution saddens me. In an environment where irrational thinking is protected, the disparity in the population rate of creationists vs that of rational thinkers, equates to a creationist win. Let's remove warning labels from products as an equalizer.

Well you could, I suppose, call daylight bombing of civilian population centers "close ties".

Yeah. Until they weren't. A couple million dead in Stalingrad might question the sincerity of their mutual friendship.... if they had lived that is.

Yeah that fascist civil war was pretty messy not as messy as Stalin through. He was far more efficient at killing his countrymen than Hitler ever could be.

Of course just like the UK all Russia has is its history (usually heavily edited) which is why its completely incapable of accepting its place in the modern world

Nobody was under any illusion that the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was about friendship between Hitler and Stalin.

This cartoon was published almost before the ink on the pact had dried:

The US is on its way to being regarded as a pariah nation. The G7 meeting this weekend ought to be interesting.

Oh, so there's still hope for us then? I thought the ship had already left port, disintegrated and sank to the bottom of the sea on that note.

Now, imagine you live here and couldn't leave and you'll know how I feel. I'm thinking about buying a hundred acres and building the biggest most beautiful wall you've ever seen... in history... in the entire world... around it. I could live there.

Yes, but the nighttime raids by factories' firelight were where the romance "heated up".

LOL... I'm sorry, I didn't READ your country of origin (the AKA should have been a giveaway)... just looked at the picture of your flag.

Yes, we are a dumb sorry bunch as a whole. I'm a victim of my culture. :)

I liked this snarky reply Tweet from one of the OP linked articles.

One Twitter user said: “Dear @StateDept: You have six months to educate Heather Nauert on the history and significance of Pearl Harbor before she cites it as an example of strong US-Japan relations. Get to it – you may need some time to catch her up.”

At least Trump hasn't declared war on anyone yet. Just a matter of time.

His wars on the media, judicial system, the FBI, the middle and lower classes, muslims, our allies, the environment, women, reason, and reality not withstanding?

ETA: Also, I'd really like to know... is this now the measure of a successful president? That he hasn't declared war on some sovereignty? Could we possible set the bar any lower? He also hasn't shot James Comey in the face... Yay.... 4 more years!

Things that make you go hmm. This now deleted tweet was submitted right at the time she interviewed for the job.

According to Mediaite, she interviewed in February of 2017 and was officially named as the spokesbot in April.
