As crazy as it may seem now, I do see people forming bonds with these robots in the future. It will be a small percentage of the population.

I find it likely those who would get one of these will have their chances of ever actually developing a meaningful relation with someone reduced even more once it's actually possible to get a robot like that.

If robots could be self-aware and attractive with nice personalities, falling in love seems reasonable. But these things are just glorified sex toys.

Personally I can't stand the uncanny valley they fall into.

Nothing creeps me out more than thost ghastly looking sex puppets and robots :yuk:

Most of them look like they've just witnessed a horrible murder and their faces got stuck with that expression :ill:

One those puppets/robots look more natural... okay, less awkward?

Reminds me of that episode of Buffy when Spike had a Buffy robot built, I loved the way Sarah Michelle Gellar played the Buffybot especially the scenes with Spike and when the Buffybot talked to the real Buffy's friends. Give it time and we will most likely have these sexbots built that will look human and I wouldn't be surprised that some will be built to look like a celebrity you may have a crush on.

I'm sure their will be laws in place to make it so the celebrity would have to validate that, I'm not a celebrity but if I were, I wouldn't want sex robots of me being made.
