  • a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service;
  • a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government;
  • a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.
  • I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership
  • Clean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.
Yes. I thought those were interesting as well. We could copy those ideas in the UK. The 'Revolving Door' between ex-government employees and industry is rife here, together with 'Special Interest', er, 'lobbying'.

They do sound good, but they screw the Clintons pretty damn well. I'll take it, as the Clinton's have been fucking the world over for decades, and their form of corruption needs to end.

Yes but, as others here have already analysed in detail, Bernie should have run a better campaign to engage with voters. His campaign was actually pretty poor at the "feet on the ground" engagement and his support mainly came from those already signed up to Bernie's message. Sure the DNC didn't help matters but, its clear Bernie didn't run as robust a campaign as he could have.

There is truth in this, but with one simple change to same day registration to vote, he probably would have won. He had Obama like energy and passion behind him.

Trump is just another clown like Reagan and Bush, although a scarier kind of killer clown. He isn't going to do much presidenting. He'll enjoy the attention and the cheering crowds but he's too stupid and lazy to do any real work.

What he will do is open a door for all kinds of extreme right-wing craziness. The question we need to ask is who and what is going to walk through that door?

Impeaching Trump might be worse than retaining him. Pence would work much more smoothly with the Republican Congress to wreck shit. I might favor the option anyway, just to get his fucking voice off the radio.

I don't want him impeached. President Mike Pence with control over both houses is a GOP wet dream. They are going to fuck over the country either way, make them deal with the headache that is Trump.

Probably my hopes speaking, but could they not impeach both?

What would Pence be impeached for?

And even if there was something that would just mean President Ryan. Arguably better, but not by a whole lot.

I don't think we are better off with President Paul Ryan either. Although there is speculation he may be ousted as speaker with the next congress.

Pence is who you'll get impeachment or not. Trump is not going to do the job. He'll ask NASA to build him a presidential spaceship with a golden groping room and he'll spend his term swanning around in that.

I'm quite sure that threatening someone with a threat that they don't accept as real will reliably get results. ;)

He certainly treats it like it's real.

Donald Trump says he is “not a big believer in global warming.” He has called it “a total hoax,” “bullshit” and “pseudoscience.”

But he is also trying to build a sea wall designed to protect one of his golf courses from “global warming and its effects.”

The New York billionaire is applying for permission to erect a coastal protection works to prevent erosion at his seaside golf resort, Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland, in County Clare.

Just a part of his sociopathy. He'll cover his own arse, but I doubt he'll take any steps that serve people beyond himself. He got elected denying climate change to a Presidency as head of the climate change denial party, switching to acceptance isn't going to do him any good regardless of what he really thinks. Much cheaper to spend real capital building a seawall to protect your own golf course than it is to spend political capital trying to save a world full of "losers and haters."
