If he lied on his federal tax returns, not claiming the stolen money as income, then he would have hid it from his state tax returns as well. Acceptance of a pardon has been adjudicated in the past to be an admission of guilt. Obviously, my expectations are tempered to expecting zero justice, but there's more than a 0.0% chance that a little smidgeon of justice could be reached.
