To add some fruitful, thought-out, and well-positioned arguments to the discssion, I'd like to point out that Scientology is run by gob-shites and scum-bags.

Quite. "Run by fucking rich gob-shites and scum-bags". Thank you for drawing the oversight to my attention.

Take "Rosemary", who is an ordinary mum and lives in England. She had two children and one died. Her surviving daughter was also her best friend. Then her daughter joined Scientology and her mother saw less and less of her.

Almost two years ago she received a "disconnect" - a letter cutting her mother out of her life totally.

Rosemary received no Christmas cards, no birthday cards, no Mother's Day cards.

Rosemary said Scientology was a cult. It was one of the most moving and shocking interviews I have ever done.

Out of the blue, three hours after we left, her daughter came round for the first time in almost two years seeking a reconciliation. The next day she begged her mum not to use the interview. So we won't.

That's just... :nono:

Mormons / LDS Church is equally demostrably false and concocted by a fraud, any chance we'll see a case against them or will they be immune because they have 'Jesus' in the title?

Claiming you can heal anything specific is a criminal offence in the UK unless backed by medical evidence and qualifications. It's illegal to say come to our Church and Jesus will heal your cancer. You can get away with Jesus heals as long as you don't say what or say its a broken heart etc
Why bother being an islamic suicide bomber to get 72 virgins in heaven when you can be a Catholic priest and get them on Earth (Jimmy Carr)

As far as I know scientology has not been convicted of being false and concocted by a fraud, but of defrauding people of their money. If and when the LDS Church defrauds people and there is a complaint against them, I'm pretty sure the French judiciary will look into it.
