I'm fairly sure he's only doing this for the headlines, but maybe we ought to start taking him at his word. That way, future generations can remember him purely for the astonishing ugliness and stupidity on display here.

"Brain power. Just one thing; brain power." Trump doesn't have it.

I just figured out what's the story with The Donald's hairpiece: it's actually carefully-disguised tinfoil, so that we can't read his true thoughts and clue in how idiotic he really is.

Why stop with Libya? Why not roll on over all of them? Don't stop till there are Trump casinos on the Omani coast.

If they're fresh enough we can do Toddler Tartar or Kiddie Carpaccio. Baby Bresaola is also nice if there's time to air-dry it.

Of course, what paves the way for this policy even to be pursued is human-caused climate change denial. Accept that, and the whole idea of doing anything to pursue oil is stupid because oil itself is the problem in the medium-to-long term.

He also doesn't have a whit's care about the troopers who would do the invading and die at the hands of foreigners. :yuk:
Capitalism is obsolete, yet we keep dancing with its corpse.

When will large scale corporate capitalism and government metamorphose to embrace modern thinking and allow us to live sustainably?

As a Swedish morning paper commented in an editorial, considering that he aims to run for president: "Not a Trump card".

Some are convinced that this is what Obama is doing already, only in a more subtle fashion: achieve a political separation of the oil-rich eastern part of Libya from the rest of the country, install a friendly puppet (in the form of Mustafa Abdul Jalil) and ensure that the oil flows in the direction of the U.S.
:dunno:

Obama's Serbia-Solution for Libya; "Split the country and steal the oil"

By Mike Whitney

March 20, 2011 "Information Clearing House" -- The Obama administration never would have launched a war on Libya if they didn't have a puppet-in-waiting ready to take power as soon as the fighting ended. That puppet appears to be Mustafa Abdul Jalil, Gaddafi's former justice minister. Jalil is presently the opposition leader of the Libyan National Transitional Council which oversees the insurgents from Al Bayda. This is not a grassroots movement that embraces the fundamental precepts of democratic government. It's a clatter of rebels armed by the Egyptian military (with US approval) to topple the Gaddafi regime. Jalil has garnered the military support of the so-called "international community" despite the fact that peaceful protesters in Bahrain, Yemen and Saudi Arabia have been kicked to the curb. It's just another example of the UN's selective support for pro-democracy movements.

Here's a clip from an interview with Mr. Jalil that appeared in The Daily Beast:

Question--Should you prevail, what’s your vision of the new Libya?

Mustafa Abdul Jalil---"We are striving for a new democratic, civil Libya, led by democratic and civil government that focuses on economic development, building civil society and civil institutions and a multi-party system. A Libya that respects all international agreements, is good to its neighbors, stands against terrorism, with respect for all religions and ethnicities....We will be seeking a smooth peaceful transition, with a drafting of a new constitution that will lead the country to a free and fair legislative and parliamentarian elections as well as presidential election.....There will be peaceful conference of governance according to elections, under the observation of the international organizations." (The Daily Beast)

There you have it, another committed "democrat" like Karzai, Abbas, Calderon, Uribe, Siniora etc. Jalil predictably parrots all the familiar public relations buzzwords: Civil society, constitution, peaceful transition, parliamentarian elections, democracy, democracy, democracy and, oh, did I mention democracy. The idea that this US-sponsored farce is some type of spontaneous eruption of the freedom-seeking masses is laughable.

"Decades of poor treatment and economic discrimination against Libyans in the country’s eastern province of Cyrenaica provided the kindling for the revolt against leader Muammar Qaddafi.... The rebellion began in Cyrenaica, a region endowed with oil....

Have ya'll seen this demonstration of Trump's stunning brilliance:
source
Vaughn Ververs writes:In his lengthy interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, Donald Trump appeared stumped when asked about the legal principle that served as the cornerstone for the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion. Here’s the key part of the interview:

Guthrie: “Is there a right to privacy in the Constitution?”

Trump: “I guess there is, I guess there is. And why, just out of curiosity, why do you ask that question?”

When pressed to explain how his position on the right to privacy “squares” with his anti-abortion position, Trump responded: “Well, that’s a pretty strange way of getting to pro-life. I mean, it’s a very unique way of asking about pro-life. What does that have to do with privacy? How are you equating pro-life with privacy? ”

Guthrie asked, “well, you know about the Roe v. Wade decision.” Trump responded, “yes, right, sure. Look, I am pro-life. I’ve said it. I’m very strong there.”

The exchange was reminiscent of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s response to a similar question during the 2008 presidential campaign. In one of a series of interviews with CBS News’ Katie Couric that were widely seen as damaging to Palin’s image, the vice presidential nominee was asked: “Do you think there's an inherent right to privacy in the Constitution?” Palin responded, “I do. Yeah, I do.”

Given that the Supreme Court used the “right to privacy” reasoning as the foundation for the Roe ruling, anti-abortion activists and candidates have long insisted no such right exists.

You can see more of the Trump interview here.

Idiotic isn't the right word. This guy is evil. Talk like this would be the start of a Third World War. Robbing oil everybody else wants in the world. I don't even think America is going to win such a war. And the Arabs will not give away there oil without a fight. The deal used to be, we buy your oil and you get rich and buy our products. It wasn't we steal your oil and you get nothing. In the age of nuclear bombs it is a self-destructive policy.
